WATER BABIES
3 to 36 months
Our fun filled lessons are designed to create a bonding experience with your baby and toddler through water based games and songs.
Parents or caregivers will be in the water with your baby or toddler which creates the opportunity to bond through fun and play. Babies and Toddlers are grouped on ability and there is a smooth transition between levels.
Littles Dippers is the first of three aged-based water-babies’ classes on offer. This is an introductory level for babies aged 3-6 months with a student to instructor ratio of 10:1. These are based in the learn to swim pool and run for 30 minutes. Little Dippers classes use a variety of fun activities and songs to introduce babies and their parents/caregivers into the water with an aim to engage these new swimmers and create a safe and comfortable learn to swim environment.
Tiny Tadpoles is the second of three aged-based water-babies’ classes on offer. Tiny Tadpoles classes cater for babies aged 6-18 months with a parent/caregiver in the water. Tiny Tadpoles classes have a student to instructor ratio of 10:1 and are based in the learn to swim pool, running for 30 minutes. These classes use a variety of fun and engaging songs and skill-based activities. The skills learnt in this class remain similar to the other two water-babies’ classes, however, they are designed to meet the development level of this age group.

Froglets is the first of two skill-based water-babies’ classes on offer. The ages of swimmers at this level varies but a parent/caregiver remains in the water. Froglets classes have a student to instructor ratio of 8:1 and are based in the learn to swim pool, running for 30 minutes. Babies and toddlers enter this level having successfully demonstrated the completion of the skill outcomes for one or more of the age-based levels. During Froglets classes babies and toddlers build on the skills of their previous level, including independent submersion, gliding, and a variety of movement in the water. As a Froglet, swimmers begin to learn and build an independence in the water.

The ages of swimmers at this level varies but a parent/caregiver remains in the water.
